The Opportunity
Join us as our first Data Scientist and become the architect of our data and analytics foundation. You'll build the infrastructure that powers insights across our entire product ecosystem—from tokenised treasuries and equities to Ondo Chain itself.
This role sits at the intersection of cutting-edge blockchain technology and traditional finance analytics. You'll work with industry-leading tools like Dune and Flipside to create systems that track market trends, analyse competitor activity, and optimise smart contract performance. Your work will directly influence strategic decisions in one of the fastest-growing segments of DeFi.
What Success Looks Like
In your first year, you'll deliver:
- Comprehensive on-chain analytics infrastructure tracking tokenised treasury products and bridge volumes
- Robust data visualisation systems providing actionable business insights
- Automated data pipelines monitoring competitor activity and market dynamics
- Smart tracking systems for market maker distributions and contract volumes
Your Responsibilities
Lead Our Data Initiative
- Own all data science efforts across Ondo's product suite (tokenised equities & ETFs, USDY, OUSG, Ondo Chain)
- Establish both on-chain and off-chain analytics frameworks from the ground up
Master On-Chain Analytics
- Leverage expertise in Dune, Flipside, block explorers, and API integrations (Birdeye, Dexscreener, CEX APIs)
- Develop sophisticated blockchain data analysis capabilities
Drive Strategic Insights
- Monitor competitive landscape and industry trends
- Build and maintain client-side analytics for Ondo web products
- Support on-chain accounting and operations automation
- Generate data-driven insights for marketing and strategic planning
Shape Our Data Architecture
- Design our complete data infrastructure stack, including BI tools, event tracking, ETL processes, data warehousing, and A/B testing frameworks
What We're Looking For
Required Experience
- 3-4 years as a Data Scientist/Analyst with a proven track record
- 1+ years in web3/crypto companies OR demonstrated blockchain data expertise
- Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, R, and complex query development
- Statistical analysis expertise, including A/B testing methodologies
- Web3 product intuition as an active DeFi user
- DeFi knowledge and hands-on experience
- Data visualisation mastery with BI platforms and tools
- ETL and pipeline development experience
- Communication excellence, translating complex findings into actionable insights
Preferred Qualifications
- Public dashboards on Dune, Flipside, or similar platforms
- Deep understanding of DeFi concepts: risk modelling, collateral ratios, MEV, oracle feeds
- Market-making and trading systems familiarity
